Nuclear Energy

English for Academic Purposes I (Semester 2, 2023)

Assignment 3 Guidelines
Purpose
The main purpose of this assignment is to test your ability to present and organise a range of
contrasting sources in the research for and the writing of an academic essay.
Assignment Details
Back in Assignment 1, you have already written an essay plan. In Assignment 3, you are
expected to turn this plan into a complete essay with proper in-text citations and a reference
list (a.k.a. the references section). Your Assignment 3 essay topic should be the one you chose
for Assignment 1.
In the essay, you are expected to explore a controversial issue inherent in your chosen topic
and analyze conflicting views. In order to do so, you need to re-read the 4 academic texts you
chose for Assignment 1 intensively and identify useful evidence. In other words, you should
support your claims with ideas and information culled from these sources.
