Assessment Brief – Individual Assignment 2 (20%)
Topic
Watch a TED talk episode “Fact, Fiction and Politics in a Post-Truth Age” by
David Patrikarakos (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VeXCU8cjIlw).
Summarize the key points of the video in around 200 words. In addition, choose
an incident of your interest, critically analyze the concept of ‘post-truth’, and
select preferred one of the five tips showed in “The Post-Truth Survival Kit” (15:25)
to cope with the post-truth situation of the incident.
You are strongly recommended to apply the theories that you have learnt so far from
the course.
Examples, pictures, articles, diagrams (quoted source of information) and audio-visual
materials are encouraged to be provided if it is helpful for the explanations and/or
elaborations in your presentation.
Submission guidelines
 Word limit of the assignment is 500 (+/- 10%). Citation and reference list are
excluded from total word count.
 Submission links could be found on SOUL. Submit both tasks on the same typed
 word / PDF document.
 Reference list should be provided at the end of your assignment.
 Wikipedia and lecture notes cannot be cited.
 No AI software is allowed.

You may also consult the lecturer after class if time allowed.
